Effective irrigation management is essential for healthy root development and optimal crop performance. As part of the Plant Empowerment Australian Programme, we’re offering Australian growers practical learning opportunities through online webinars and in-person training. Join this free webinar to explore the key factors influencing irrigation, water management and rootzone health in substrate-grown crops.
Irrigation & Water Management
Understanding irrigation & rootzone health
Healthy roots are the foundation of a productive crop. Effective irrigation management involves more than deciding when and how much to water. It requires an understanding of the different factors that influence conditions in the rootzone.
In this practical 90-minute webinar, Remy Maat will introduce the Big Six factors affecting rootzone health: electrical conductivity (EC), pH, temperature, oxygen levels, water content and biological life. He will also explore how irrigation strategies, irrigation dose size, substrate volume and dryback influence root growth and health in substrate-grown crops.
Delivered in collaboration with Applied Horticultural Research (AHR) and Apex Greenhouses.
